A Historic Milestone for the Asia-Pacific Diocese
By the Grace of God, the Asia-Pacific Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church has achieved a significant milestone with the successful purchase of a 5,500 sqm property near Canberra for our Diocesan Headquarters and Bishop’s House.
Achieved within a short period since the Diocese was established in November 2024, this has been made possible through the prayers, generosity and tremendous support of our Parishes, Clergy and faithful across the Diocese.
We express our sincere gratitude to His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews III for his prayers, guidance and blessings. His Holiness visited and blessed the site in November 2025. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Diocesan Assistant Metropolitan, His Grace Dr. Yuhanon Mar Diascoros, for his strong leadership, guidance and dedicated efforts in making this vision a reality.
The newly acquired property will become the spiritual and administrative centre of the Diocese and is planned to accommodate the Bishop’s House, Diocesan Office, and a Community Centre, serving our Church and community for generations to come.
This milestone represents much more than the purchase of land. It marks an important step in building a strong and lasting foundation for the mission, ministry, fellowship, and future growth of the Malankara Orthodox Church across the Asia-Pacific region.
We thank Almighty God and everyone who helped make this vision a reality
